If you are a citizen of the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, or Belarus, you do not need a visa for stays in Vietnam of up to 45 days.
Note: Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic benefit from a special exemption between March 1 and December 31, 2025, when traveling as part of an organized tour.
If you are from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the United States, you must obtain a visa before arrival. There are three options:
-
E-Visa: Valid for up to 90 days, with single or multiple entries. Apply online through the official Vietnamese Immigration website. Processing time is usually 3–5 working days.
-
Visa on Arrival (VOA): Only available for travelers arriving by air. Requires a pre-approval letter from a licensed travel agency in Vietnam.
-
Visa via Embassy/Consulate: You can also apply in person or by mail through a Vietnamese diplomatic mission in your home country.
We recommend the E-Visa for its convenience and simplicity. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your planned entry date and have proof of onward travel.
