Vietnam’s climate varies significantly from north to south due to its long and diverse geography—stretching over 2,000 km. This means that while one region may be cool or rainy, another can be warm and sunny, making Vietnam a year-round destination with regional variations.

Based on our experience, the optimal time to visit Vietnam is from October to April, when much of the country enjoys pleasant, dry weather.

  • October–November and March–May are especially ideal, with mild temperatures and minimal rainfall across most regions.

  • July and August can be quite warm (30–35°C), but Halong Bay typically sees clear skies, and the rice terraces in the north are especially beautiful—lush green or golden, depending on the stage of the harvest.

  • In Southern Vietnam, even during the rainy season, showers are usually short and concentrated in the late afternoon, leaving plenty of sunshine during the rest of the day.

If you have fixed travel dates in mind—whether in summer, winter, or another season—let us know. We’ll help tailor your itinerary to match the most favorable conditions across Vietnam’s regions.

The best beach resorts in Vietnam vary depending on the season of your visit, as weather conditions shift between regions.

  • From November to April (winter to spring):
We recommend resorts along the southeast coast, where the weather is dry and sunny. Ideal destinations include:

    • Nha Trang – known for its long sandy beaches and vibrant resort scene

    • Phu Yen – a quieter, scenic option with unspoiled coastline

    • Vung Tau – easily accessible from Ho Chi Minh City for a quick beach escape
You can also consider the islands of:

    • Phu Quoc – located in the Gulf of Thailand, with palm-fringed beaches and luxury resorts

    • Con Dao – a more exclusive destination with pristine nature and clear waters

  • From May to October (summer to early autumn):
Head to Vietnam’s central coast, where the weather is best during this time. Excellent beach options include:

    • Da Nang – with modern beachfront resorts and easy access to cultural sites

    • Hoi An – where you can enjoy beautiful beaches alongside a charming ancient town

Let us know your travel dates and preferences, and we’ll recommend the most suitable beachfront stays for your itinerary.
