📅 Day 1
Hanoi - Arrival
+

Arrive in Hanoi, the thousand-year-old capital located in the heart of northern Vietnam. Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted at the airport by an English-speaking guide and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Rooms are available from 2:00 p.m., and the day’s program can be adapted to match your arrival time.

Begin your first exploration of the city with a visit to King Ly Thai To Square, a symbolic location that reflects the city’s millennia of history. Continue to Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as the Lake of the Restored Sword, where you can admire the peaceful Jade Mountain Temple and the iconic Turtle Islet in the center of the lake.

Next, take a stroll through the Hanoi Old Quarter, famous for its 36 ancient guild streets, each historically named after traditional crafts and trades. Don’t miss Ma May Street, where you can visit a preserved ‘Tube’ house—a narrow, elongated home that exemplifies traditional Hanoi architecture.

Round off the afternoon with a cyclo ride through the city’s French colonial district. Pass notable sites such as the Grand Opera House, the elegant Metropole Hotel, the State Bank, and the Central Post Office, all showcasing Hanoi’s colonial heritage.

End your day with a restful overnight stay at the hotel, marking a memorable beginning to your two-week journey through Vietnam, from Halong Bay to the ancient port city of Hoi An.

📅 Day 2
Hanoi - City tour – Lao Cai
+

Spend the day exploring Hanoi’s key cultural sites. Start at the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, and a symbol of Confucian heritage.

Then visit Ba Dinh Square to see the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and his former stilt house residence nearby.

Continue to the Museum of Ethnology, where you’ll learn about the diverse cultures of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups.

In the evening, enjoy a traditional water puppet show before boarding the night train to Lao Cai.

📅 Day 3
Lao Cai – Bac Ha
+

Arrive early in Lao Cai and enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant. Then travel to Bac Ha, a quiet mountain town northeast of Sapa.

Begin a scenic hike through hills, forests, and ethnic villages. Reach Ngai Phong Cho, home to the Flower Hmong and Phu La people, known for their traditional mud houses.

Continue walking to Thai Giang Pho and Na Lo, remote villages of the Tay and Black Hmong communities. Admire beautiful rice terraces and winding rivers.

In the evening, stay with a Tay family in a local homestay. Share dinner and learn about their way of life. Accommodations are simple but comfortable, with mosquito nets, clean bedding, and shared bathrooms with hot water.

📅 Day 4
Bac Ha – Sapa
+

Depending on the day of the week, you’ll have a chance to visit one of the colorful weekly markets held by ethnic minorities in the Bac Ha region. These markets—such as Coc Ly on Tuesday, Sin Cheng on Wednesday, Can Cau on Saturday, and Muong Hum, Muong Khuong, or Bac Ha on Sunday—are vibrant gatherings where different ethnic groups come together to trade goods, socialize, and exchange news. You’ll also get to observe traditional cattle trading, a fascinating part of local life.

Later, head to Sapa, a former French colonial hill station nestled in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Known for its cool climate and striking mountain scenery, Sapa offers sweeping views of terraced rice fields, winding mountain roads, and mist-covered valleys. It’s also home to many ethnic communities and is rich in cultural experiences, traditional villages, and lively markets.

In the afternoon, go off the beaten track to explore the lesser-known highland areas of Hang Da and Sa Seng, located east of Sapa. Walk through karst limestone formations, pass small hamlets, and observe daily farming activities. Then, continue through Sa Seng valley, flanked by lush mountains and filled with forests and pristine streams.

Return to Sapa in the evening for an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel.

📅 Day 5
Sapa – Lao Cai – road to Hanoi
+

Prepare for a day of enchanting hiking through the stunning and exotic landscapes of the Muong Hoa Valley. Situated in the southwest of Sapa, at the base of Mount Fansipan—the highest peak in Indochina—Muong Hoa Valley beckons with its natural beauty. During your exploration, you’ll visit ethnic villages scattered throughout the valley, including Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai, home to the Black Hmong, as well as Ta Van, inhabited by the Dzay people.

You’ll have the chance to engage with local residents as they toil in the verdant rice fields, gaining insights into their daily routines and way of life. Muong Hoa Valley, framed by steep mountains, is a cultural mosaic inhabited by various minority ethnic groups such as the Hmong, Dzao, Dzay, and Tay, all of whom rely on rice farming for their livelihoods.

As the day comes to a close, we’ll journey back to Hanoi by road, where you’ll spend the night and rest after an exhilarating day of exploration.

📅 Day 6
Hanoi - Ninh Binh
+

Set out for Ninh Binh – the land of limestone karsts, sugarloaf mountains, and rice fields flooded by rivers and lakes throughout the year.

Arrival in Ninh Xuan, visit to Mua Mountain. Climb a 486-step white stone staircase to the summit of this bell-shaped mountain, which offers a panoramic view of the Tam Coc region.

Afterward, transfer to Tam Coc for a bike ride and leisurely exploration of this fabulous region.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip along the Ngo Dong River to explore the beauty of Tam Coc. This meandering river takes you through lush rice fields, past picturesque sugar loaf hills, and beneath the three enchanting caves nestled at the base of towering limestone peaks.

End your day with an overnight stay in Ninh Binh.

📅 Day 7
Ninh Binh – Halong Bay
+

Depart for Halong Bay, often hailed as Vietnam’s most beautiful natural wonder and one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Asia. Upon arrival, board a traditional wooden junk and receive a warm welcome from the crew before setting off on a memorable cruise through the bay.

Begin your journey through Bai Tu Long, the less-traveled northern part of Halong Bay. Marvel at the stunning limestone islands and islets, many shaped like sails, dogs, roosters, or incense burners.

Stop to explore Thien Canh Son Cave, home to impressive stalactites and stalagmites formed over thousands of years.

Continue cruising to Cap La, where you can go kayaking and, weather permitting, enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear waters of the bay.

As the day winds down, relax on the junk’s upper deck and take in the peaceful scenery. Enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner of fresh seafood on board.

Spend the evening at your leisure—play cards, try your hand at night fishing, or simply unwind under the stars. Overnight on board the junk.

📅 Day 8
Halong Bay - Hanoi - evening flight to Hue
+

Wake early to witness a stunning sunrise over the limestone islets of Halong Bay—a magical sight not to be missed. Join a gentle Tai Chi session on the terrace to begin the day in peace.

The cruise continues into the quieter parts of the bay. Visit Thien Canh Son Cave, known for its impressive formations of stalactites and stalagmites dating back thousands of years.

Enjoy lunch on board as the junk returns to the pier. After disembarking, travel back to Hanoi.

In the evening, take a short flight to Hue, the former imperial capital in central Vietnam.

Spend the night in Hue, ready to explore its rich heritage the following day.

📅 Day 9
Hue - City Tour
+

Begin the day with a tour of Hue, Vietnam’s last imperial capital from 1802 to 1945.

Visit the Imperial City, the historic complex that served as the royal residence and administrative center for 13 Nguyen emperors over 143 years.

Continue to a royal tomb—either the Gia Long Mausoleum, honoring the dynasty’s founder, or the Minh Mang Mausoleum, known for its grand design and the emperor’s notable legacy of 142 children with 43 concubines.

Stroll through Phu Mong Village, renowned for its traditional garden houses tied to Hue’s royal past.

Explore Thien Mu Pagoda, the city’s most famous temple, or the peaceful Tu Hieu Pagoda, resting place of the Nguyen Dynasty eunuchs. If timing allows, you may witness a monks’ prayer session.

End the day at Dong Ba Market, the oldest in Hue, where you can browse for local goods like conical hats and silk tunics.

Overnight at the hotel.

📅 Day 10
Hue – Hoi An
+

Travel to Hoi An, a charming old town located about 150 kilometers south of Hue. The scenic route winds along the Eastern Sea and through the majestic Hai Van Pass, offering breathtaking coastal and mountain views.

Along the way, stop at Lang Co and Da Nang to admire their pristine turquoise bays and tranquil beaches like Thuan An and Lang Co—still largely untouched by mass tourism. These areas are dotted with fish farms, offering a glimpse into local livelihoods.

You’ll also pass by striking roadside cemeteries, often called “ghost towns,” where elaborate tombs resembling miniature castles reflect unique Vietnamese customs, including the tradition of secondary burial.

Arrive in Hoi An in the afternoon, check in to your hotel, and enjoy a restful overnight stay.

📅 Day 11
Hoi An Countryside Tour
+

Enjoy a scenic cycling excursion through the peaceful countryside of Hoi An, nestled along the banks of the Thu Bon River.

After breakfast, head to Van Lang fishing village and the nearby Bay Mau coconut forest. Surrounded by winding canals, mangroves, and coconut palms, the area offers an authentic glimpse of rural life.

Upon arrival, friendly locals will welcome you aboard a round basket boat for a relaxing ride through the coconut-lined waterways. Take in the serene scenery and try your hand at traditional shrimp fishing techniques. Afterward, enjoy a home-cooked lunch with a local family.

In the afternoon, continue to Tra Que village, known for growing organic herbs and vegetables. Wander through the gardens, meet the farmers, and take part in hands-on farming activities like preparing the soil and planting herbs.

Cycle back to your hotel in the late afternoon. Enjoy a free evening and spend the night at your hotel.

📅 Day 12 & 13
Hoi An and its beaches
+

Spend two days unwinding on the peaceful, uncrowded beaches of Cua Dai and An Bang, both close to Hoi An’s charming old town.

Take relaxing bike rides through the scenic countryside, passing traditional villages known for crafts like pottery, carpentry, and vegetable farming.

Return each evening to the comfort of your hotel for a restful night’s stay.

📅 Day 14
Hoi An – Da Nang – Hanoi – Departure
+

Take time to relax and enjoy a peaceful final day. You may also wish to finish up any last-minute shopping before your journey home. In the evening, our guide from Kampá Tour will escort you to the airport for your departure flight.

On the other hand, if you prefer to travel at a slower pace and dive deeper into local life, focusing on just one region can be more rewarding. Whether it’s the cultural charm of the north, the historical treasures of central Vietnam, or the vibrant atmosphere of the south, each area offers plenty to discover on its own.

When packing for a 2-week trip to Vietnam, it’s important to prepare for varying climates and a range of activities. Here are the essentials:

Vietnam’s climate varies greatly from north to south due to its length of over 2,000 km and diverse landscapes. This means that when one region is rainy, cold, or humid, another may be enjoying sunny, pleasant weather. Based on our experience, the ideal time to visit Vietnam is from October to April.

Within this period, October to November and March to May are particularly favorable, offering mild temperatures and minimal rainfall across most regions. These months are ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities.

While July and August can be hot (30–35°C), Halong Bay often remains sunny, and this is a wonderful time to admire the lush green or golden terraced rice fields in the north.

In southern Vietnam, even during the rainy season, showers typically last only an hour or two in the afternoon, with the rest of the day remaining sunny and suitable for travel.

If you already have a specific season in mind—such as summer or winter—let us know, and we’ll recommend the most suitable destinations and travel months for your itinerary.

If you are a citizen of the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, or Belarus, you do not need a visa for Vietnam for stays of up to 45 days. Additionally, Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic enjoy a special visa exemption for organized tours from March 1 to December 31, 2025.

If you are from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the United States, you are not visa-exempt and will need to obtain a visa before arriving in Vietnam. You have three options:

  1. E-Visa – Valid for up to 90 days (single or multiple entry). Apply online via the Vietnamese Immigration website. Processing takes 3–5 business days. This is the most convenient method.

  2. Visa on Arrival (VOA) – Available only for air travelers and requires a pre-approval letter issued by an authorized travel agency.

  3. Visa through the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate – Apply in person or by mail in your home country.

Regardless of the method, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date and you have proof of onward travel.
Feel free to contact us if you’d like assistance with your visa application.

We provide comfortable, air-conditioned private vehicles that are well-maintained and often equipped with a cooler for cold bottled water. The vehicle size depends on the number of participants:

  • For 2–3 travelers: a private 7-seater car

  • For 4–8 travelers: a 16-seater minibus

  • For 9–15 travelers: a 24-seater bus

  • For 16–20 travelers: a 35- or 45-seater bus

Our drivers are professional, cautious, and friendly. They are also flexible and willing to make stops along the way so you can enjoy the scenery, take photos, or simply rest.
